I think It seems that people are way too eager to accept unsupported statements as fact, and all too willing to portray about China.

Hi...
This post is interesting. I loved reading it. Good teas and herbs would never be treated that way.

They're probably not demonizing us with the theatricality and hyperbole of a few decades ago, but I'd be interested in hearing the rumors. The trade deficit places power with the Chinese, lessening the need to discredit the US using propaganda, so it's likely to be as colorful.

Yes this exhaust drying one has been buzzing around for at least 10 years to my certain knowledge (verbally - I never saw it written). I also heard it told of the infant Rooibos industry which, while they were agricultural rather than hi-technical, I also disbelieved.
Akin to the British telling their children that the Hun ate babies - and exactly the same story in reverse being told in Germany. I wonder what the Chinese believe us capable of?

Weird... This one never made my radar.

Of course, good teas and herbs would never be treated in that manner. Thanks for speaking out against such a stupid rumor that may have even turned some clueless North Americans against Chinese tea!

I have not heard this bit of nonsense, but I have found other stories that are supposedly reliable to be equally annoying. They often are "studies" to show this or that about tea, but if you research them you find they only used 10 people on a one shot basis with tea most of us wouldn't drink in a cold bunker under the Bering sea. Hopefully, that is obviously a bad use of a "study"

Yes, I agree. It seems that people are way too eager to accept unsupported statements as fact, and all too willing to portray China as some megalithic menace to the US.

Yeah citations or references are not needed if referring to a Chinese practice. Western media or people have too much bias.
